Make. Break. Learn.
A maker/breaker YouTube channel where we build cool things from other things. 3D printing, woodworking, welding, electronics, and mechanical builds — done cheap, done clever.
DIY Dive is about making things work with what you've got. No $10,000 shops. No "this one tool you definitely need." Just resourcefulness, curiosity, and the willingness to break things on the way to making them better.
We cover the full maker spectrum — slicing models for the 3D printer, cutting joinery by hand, welding frames from scrap steel, wiring up Arduino controllers, and designing mechanical assemblies that actually hold together.
Every project on this channel is built to be reproducible on a budget. Plans and templates coming soon.
"If you're not breaking things, you're not learning. Every failed print, every misaligned joint, every fried circuit — that's tuition. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is making. Then breaking. Then making it better."
We source materials from scrap yards, thrift stores, salvage, and the "free" section of Craigslist. The best projects start with what someone else threw away.
Homebrew CNC router built from PVC pipe, salvaged stepper motors, and an Arduino GRBL controller. Total cost: under $60.
Rock-solid workbench from construction site scrap lumber and salvaged door slab. Built to survive anything the shop throws at it.
Industrial pipe lamp from discarded plumbing fittings and a $3 LED bulb. Edison-style design with exposed wiring.
Custom modular tool organization system — every mount 3D printed to exact tool dimensions. Fully parametric design.
Electric skateboard from a junk longboard, hoverboard hub motor, salvaged 18650 cells, and a cheap ESC.
Salvaged solar panel, dead car battery, and a 12V LED strip = free workshop lighting that runs all night.
New videos every week — build breakdowns, tool hacks, shop improvements, and full project walkthroughs. Subscribe to follow along.

Browse the Store →The dream is bigger than a YouTube channel. DIY Dive was born from the conviction that every community needs a makerspace — a place where tools, knowledge, and materials are shared. Where kids learn to build, adults rediscover their hands, and anyone with an idea can walk in and make it real.
We're building toward a brick-and-mortar DIY Dive Makerspace: 3D printer farm, wood shop, metal fab area, electronics bench, CNC bay, and a project assembly zone. Membership-based, sliding scale, community-funded.
